Description:
Industry leading food manufacturer in the greater Cleveland area is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee daily operations of their warehouse. This person will lead daily shipping and receiving activities in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, safety, and strict adherence to food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC, FDA). Responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and maintaining compliance within the warehouse.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• 
  Team Leadership: Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate performance of shipping/receiving team. Foster a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
• 
  Receiving Operations: Oversee accurate receipt, inspection (quality, temp, lot#, expiry), documentation, and system entry (WMS/ERP) of all inbound materials. Manage non-conforming goods per QA protocols. Ensure proper labeling and put-away (FIFO/FEFO).
• 
  Shipping Operations: Coordinate accurate and timely picking, staging, checking, and loading of outbound finished goods per customer specs. Generate shipping documents (BOLs, etc.) and manage carrier pickups, ensuring transport compliance (food safety, temp).
• 
  Inventory & Warehouse: Maintain high inventory accuracy via cycle counts and discrepancy resolution. Enforce stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and lot traceability. Optimize warehouse layout and space.
• 
  Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC, FDA standards throughout warehouse operations. Maintain sanitation, pest control, allergen control, and cold chain integrity. Participate actively in internal/external audits.
• 
  Safety & Equipment: Champion a strong safety culture (OSHA/company policies). Ensure proper Material Handling Equipment (MHE) use, maintenance, and operator training/certification. Investigate incidents.
• 
  Collaboration & Reporting: Liaise effectively with Production, QA, Purchasing, Planning, and Customer Service. Report on operational performance and carrier issues.
• 
  Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, safety, and quality.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: HS Diploma/GED required; AS/BS in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
• 
  Experience: 3-5+ years in shipping/receiving/warehouse operations, including 2+ years in a supervisory/lead role. Food manufacturing or distribution experience strongly preferred.
  
• 
  Skills:
  • Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with WMS/ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Expertise in inventory control (FIFO/FEFO), GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC, food safety regulations, lot traceability, and cold chain management (if applicable).
  • Understanding of logistics, DOT regulations, and shipping documentation.
  • Forklift operation ability.
• 
  Certifications: Forklift Operator Certification required. HACCP, PCQI, or SQF Practitioner certification is a plus.
