Schedule: Variable shift/days, weekends, and holidays; 12 hour shifts
SUMMARY:
The EMS Driver is responsible for providing safe, timely, and high-quality emergency and non-emergency transportation for sick or injured patients, ensuring compassionate care and support throughout the transport process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responds promptly to dispatched emergency and non-emergency calls.
Conducts pre-shift vehicle inspections, checking fluids, fuel, and reporting any maintenance needs.
Ensures the ambulance is clean, sanitized, and fully stocked with necessary medical supplies.
Assists with safely loading and unloading patients using gurneys.
Administers basic first aid, including bandaging, splinting, and oxygen delivery when required.
Maintains accurate driving logs, including patient information, mileage, and service details.
Reports accident details to appropriate medical personnel and law enforcement when necessary.
Exposure to potential biohazards (OSHA Category II).
Must maintain regular and punctual attendance, with flexibility to work over 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, or swing shifts as needed.
REQ UIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
AHA BLS
NYS Driver's License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two years' driving an ambulance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $16.50 - $22.09
