Systems Analyst I at TransCore, LP in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Systems Analyst I to join our night shift team in Houston, Texas.

Job Summary: The Systems Analyst I provides day-to-day technical support for existing customer installations as well as new deployments of proprietary multi-servicer tolling applications. Responsible for working both independently and in coordination with other teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• This position will work the night shift (9:00 PM - 6:00 AM Monday through Friday)
• Analyzes business functions in order to develop new or modified information processing systems.
• Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.
• Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
• Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
• Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
• Maintains user security and integrity of system data.
• Review logs to determine what causes issues and how to improve upon them.
• Understanding and implementation of setting changes and upgrades in the system's infrastructure.

Training Schedule (First 3 Months):

• During the first 3 months, you will undergo comprehensive training to gain a thorough understanding of our systems, processes, and tools. This will also provide you with the opportunity to work closely with senior team members and develop the skills needed for the role.

  Shift: 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Monday - Friday)

Post-Training Schedule (After 3 Months):

• After the initial 3 months of training, you will transition into one of the regular shift schedules below to support our systems.
• 
  Shift: Appx: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Monday - Friday) Various 1 hour adjustments are needed.

Education: Associate degree from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Required Skills & Experience:

• High level troubleshooting
• Logical analysis skills
• Experience using remote desktop applications
• Experience modifying windows registry
• Knowledge of networking (what an IP is and how to set one)
• Microsoft SQL Database understanding
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Scripting language knowledge (Batch/Python/Powershell)
• Windows Domain and Active Diectory knowledge
• Linux Knowledge
