The Mission Critical QAQC/Commissioning(Cx) Project Leader is responsible for successfully executing QAQC/Cx projects for clients. The individual will initially be in the field driving all QAQC/Cx activities with direct contractor/client engagement. This role will be responsible for building and managing a dedicated QAQC team of skilled professionals in the delivery of high-quality QAQC/Cx services for mission-critical data center facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy / Client Engagement
Identify new related business opportunities in the mission-critical market.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs and promote the company•s QAQC/Cx capabilities.
Implement improvement initiatives to enhance QAQC/Cx processes and methodologies.
Project Operational Oversight
Manage project budgets.
Track and report on project timelines, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
Manage team and equipment allocation across projects to optimize efficiency and maintain quality service delivery.
Oversee the QAQC/Cx process, including pre-design, design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases to ensure all systems function as intended.
Ensure QAQC/Cx practices align with client standards and industry standards, including ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and other relevant codes and guidelines.
Review project plans, specifications, and QAQC/Cx documents to ensure technical quality and adherence to client requirements.
Conduct quality checks throughout the QAQC/Cx process, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery of projects.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a QAQC/Cx team of field staff, engineers, and technicians.
Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
Develop and implement training programs to ensure team members remain current with industry trends, technical skills, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree; in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering is preferred. Or comparable experience within the Mission Critical field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in QAQC/Cx or engineering, with 1+ years in a project management role within mission-critical environments.
A history of successfully acquiring new opportunities, delivering projects or services, and a track record of managing profitable projects within the QAQC/Cx field is preferred.
Certifications
Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred; or
Certifications: Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP).
Skills and Abilities
Strong technical knowledge of data center systems and operations, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on mentorship and professional development.
Strong organizational and project management skills with a focus on quality control and client satisfaction.
Proficiency in Cx software and project management tools.
Work Environment
Office and fieldwork as required, with regular travel to client sites. (initial role start is in the field on a client project site)
Willingness to work extended hours to meet project deadlines, as required.
