POSITION SUMMARY



Responsible for understanding in Structural & Soils design concepts, estimating and construction basics. Dedicated to a market/region and supports the project preconstruction and operations team members. Provides industry knowledge and expertise as an in-house resource for associates and clients.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES




Pursuit



  • Attends project interviews to identify and speak to Structural & Soils challenges and opportunities.



Document Review



  • Reviews construction drawings to identify optimal and innovative solutions, potential scope gaps, overages and VE opportunities.





Estimating and Scheduling



  • Assists project team with Structural & Soils estimating at various design stages.


  • Reviews preconstruction and trade partner estimates and provides input related to engineering trades.


  • Maintains tracking system of Structural & Soils long lead time items.





Trade Partner Coordination



  • Understands trade partners strengths and who to recommend for specific project types and assists preconstruction team with trade partner selection.


  • Reviews Structural & Soils scope of work documents.


  • Assists preconstruction managers with Structural & Soils bid evaluations and provides analysis and makes recommendations.





Construction



  • Participates in and prepares for Structural & Soils trade and / or consultant coordination meetings regularly.


  • Reviews specific Structural & Soils submittals on select projects and provide feedback to operations team.


  • Attends site reviews regularly for assigned projects.





Risk Management



  • Assists project team with troubleshooting as needed.


  • Assists project team with development plans for high risk trade partners.


  • Assists site teams in managing plans for high risk structures or projects.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)


  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Structural, Civil or Construction Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Construction Science or Management or equivalent.


  • 5+ years experience as design engineer/consultant or trade partner preconstruction, management, or operations.


  • Knowledge of Structural & Soils and construction terminology and construction procedures.


  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.


  • High-level of time management and prioritization.


  • Able to build new and retain relationships with trade partners and consultants by attending industry events.


  • Able to work with a variety of internal and external clients.





WORKING CONDITIONS



The position requires work in an office environment.
