Job Description:

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate administrator of a State university. Responsible for conducting research and/or participating in research for specific projects or programs within a department, college, or interdisciplinary program. May be responsible for teaching when part of a specific program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Prospective applicants must have obtained an MD and/or PhD in biology, cell and molecular biology, Medicine, or other related field at the time of appointment. Prospective applicants also must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Grow Here .Collaborates on ongoing research projects; Performs experiments using live mice, rabbits, human cadaveric tissue, mammalian cell and tissue culture in vitro, electrophoresis of protein and nucleotide samples, microscopy and other modes of imaging, flow cytometry analysis and other immunological methods, gene transfection using CRISPR/Cas9 technology; Performs animal experiments including on the eye; Performs statistical and other analyses on data, including RNAseq and Proteomics data.

Conceptualizes, designs and conducts an independent research project under faculty supervision; Writes, submits, and modifies Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) study protocols; Performs data collection using standardized research protocols; Ensures study protocols are followed to ensure compliance. Meets regularly with supervising faculty to review study progress, timeline, and findings. Prepares briefings of results and works closely with supervising faculty during interpretation of study results. Help faculty to supervise students and technicians in the laboratory.

Develops, edits, and updates standardized laboratory documents including IRB and IACUC protocols, study notebooks, data collection templates, participant forms and reporting templates. Assists with preparing reports and other documents for publication and dissemination to journals. Submits abstracts and attends academic meetings to present findings and discoveries.

Other research related duties as assigned.
