The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines to process materials according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precision and quality in manufactured parts. Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate laser cutting equipment (e.g., CNC laser cutters) to cut, engrave, or shape materials such as metal, plastic, or composites.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and cutting paths.
Load materials onto the machine and monitor cutting processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and ensure machines are operating at optimal performance.
Inspect finished products for quality, dimensions, and tolerances using precision measuring tools.
Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
1-2 years of experience operating laser cutting machines or CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with metal types, thicknesses, and properties.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills and experience with machine control software.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
