The IT Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the success of the IT Project Management Office (PMO). This position entails managing complex IT projects, ensuring their completion within the stipulated time, scope, and budget constraints. The IT Project Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, manage risks, and ensure successful project execution. This role requires expertise in IT systems, project management, and organizational dynamics to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop comprehensive project plans that detail the scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, budget, and resource allocation. This involves identifying project milestones, key activities, and critical path tasks.
Ensure the alignment of project goals with overarching business needs and the strategic IT roadmap.
Direct and coordinate project resources, including internal teams and external vendors, ensuring optimal utilization to meet project objectives.
Monitor project progress through detailed tracking and status reporting. Identify potential issues proactively and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
Conduct project kick-off meetings to establish project governance and communication protocols.
Manage project scope changes through a formal change control process, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and approve adjustments.
Manage and track all Risks, Action Items, Issues and Decisions through documentation or logbook.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues proactively. This involves conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans.
Develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and minimize their impact on project outcomes.
Ensure timely resolution of project-related conflicts and obstacles through effective problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
Maintain a Risk register and update it regularly to reflect the current risk landscape.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate extensively with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Ensure that stakeholder expectations are managed and aligned with project goals.
Provide regular updates and detailed reports on project status, risks, and performance metrics. This includes preparing project dashboards and executive summaries.
Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to gather requirements, solicit feedback, and drive consensus.
PMO Support:
Support the development and implementation of PMO processes, methodologies, and standards. This includes contributing to the creation of project management templates, tools, and best practices.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices within the PMO by identifying areas for enhancement and recommending solutions.
Assist in the development and management of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and report on PMO performance.
Participate in PMO training and development initiatives to enhance project management capabilities within the organization.
Team Collaboration and Building:
Collaborate closely with other project managers and PMO staff to share best practices, lessons learned and ensure consistency in project delivery.
Mentor and support the team of project managers by providing guidance and feedback.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Contribute to team-building activities and initiatives to strengthen team dynamics and enhance overall team performance.

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in project management to ensure the PMO is calibrated for success.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management roles, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or other PMI certifications preferred.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
Experience with project management tools such as MS Project/Planner, Jira or equivalent platforms.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
