Responsibilities
The Plant Accountant is responsible for accurate reporting and management of financial data for a manufacturing plant. This role includes handling payroll, accounts payable, and personnel administration, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and maintaining job skills through training programs
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Ensure PPE compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
Summarize and report on general accounting activities.
Communicate unsafe conditions, acts, or injuries to the Plant Manager.
Manage payroll, including overtime, employee benefits, and taxes using ADP and E-time software.
Prepare entries using accrual accounting for payroll, freight, and capital expenditures.
Record and report numerical and financial data.
Manage accounts payable and purchase order processes.
Handle transactions of collected cash and checks.
Administer personnel files, vacation and attendance tracking, new employee processing, and benefits administration.
Reconcile general ledger accounts.
Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES.
Job Skills
Intermediate to advanced MS Office and computer skills.
Minimum typing and multi-line phone management.
Ability to minimize data entry/numerical errors.
Strong mathematical skills.
Effective proofreading skills.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with a 10-key calculator
Educational Requirements:
Minimum High School graduate.
Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
Preferred Experience:
2-3 years of general business/office experience.
Previous HR/Administration experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other components.
Ability to use hands for typing, phone handling, and other tasks throughout the day.
Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
