HORTON AUTOMATICS

Horton Automatics services the commercial and industrial markets with a variety of automatic entrance systems. Based in Corpus Christi, Texas, Horton Automatics builds about 35,000 automatic doors, revolving doors, security entrances and windows annually. Its customers include restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, airports, hotels, casinos, office buildings, convenience stores, retail food stores and government buildings.

The Position

Assembles and prepares documentation of sales orders for shipment. Ensures order fulfilled and verified against 3PL and Oracle systems. Enter transactions in Oracle to update the system when orders are complete. Ensures complete products are accurately recorded and shipped on a timely basis to the customer. Work with other departments to assist with their shipping requirements.Qualifications


  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read Bills of Lading and product specifications (PO's).
  • Ability to work long hours.
  • Ability to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to make decisions that are varied but usually confined to situations that are familiar.
  • Ability to work as a team member and participant in projects that involve or impact several departments.

Education


  • High school diploma, some college preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing or shipping related experience.

  • Records shipping data including but not limited to, bills of lading, discrepancies in the customer order, weights of shipment, rates of shipments, and international documents.
  • Record freight damage documentation including, but not limited; to freight claims, and other areas related to shipping.
  • Follows up on freight claims to assure we collect our re-imbursements. Completes ship confirmation in Oracle and reports daily shipments. Scan documents daily.
  • Schedules customer deliveries. Schedules freight for customer pick up orders.
  • Participates in routine, periodic inventories, counting and recording stock items.
  • Participate in the training of other employees as assigned. Be available for procedure inquires from other employees. Actively participate in the development and quality control of the department.
  • Communicate with management team on daily issues to ensure resolutions of customer orders regarding freight and other issues related to shipping.
  • Provide shipping related assistance to production departments and both internal/external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
