TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager- Signalization located in Atlanta, GA.
This role leads electrical engineering team in the execution and delivery of product development following the standard product development process (SPDP). The electrical engineering manager will provide expert judgment and consultation in one or more areas in design, develop, implement and analyze electrical components of the elevator systems including but not limited to control systems. The position demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Focuses on highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research to assist in development of electrical hardware requirements and hardware development which includes verification and validation activities of the product development life-cycle.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Leads electrical engineering team in the execution development projects
Ensures team members have a clear understanding of overall project strategy, key business drivers, and project priorities
Management of direct reports, including monitoring staff performance, creation of individual development plans, conducting regular performance reviews, and supporting career path development
Monitors team performance and departmental KPI's
Supports training of technical staff for individual development goals
Facilitate empowerment, education, and exposure opportunities for direct reports
Drive innovation from ideation through product launch
Assess the feasibility, viability, and risks of proposed technical innovations or proposed product features in terms of functionality for new products and improving existing products
Proactively contributes to planning phases of development projects supporting schedule, resource, and budget estimates for NPI projects
Assess the feasibility, viability, risk, and business potential of collaboration with external design and manufacturing partners
Management and direction of electrical teams and resources to achieve design and project deliverables including integration of all technical activities, contracted services, and outsourced manufacturing.
Partner with product strategy, manufacturing, and quality assurance to establish performance, safety, cost, and new product quality standards consistent with market needs
Ensures electrical team effectively translate market requirements (MTOR) or design requirements in the creation of test plans using the design validation process
Ensures electrical team confirms the design meets its intended function through design validation processes
Ensuring the operational delivery of the electrical engineering budget and reporting against established KPI's
Reviews schedules, plans, identifies opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, and maximize resources.
Communications to external stakeholders
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related engineering field
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required, (EE preferred)
2+ years' of people management
7+ years' experience in a technical product development, project management position
Demonstrated experience in change management
Must demonstrate a strong aptitude for basic consumer electronics, mechanical devices and elevator systems
Excellent written and oral communication skills to present data and product recommendations to engineering and marketing/sales management
Strong leadership and team building skills
Excellent proficiency using MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project or comparable Project Management Software)
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
Experience with Project Management Professional (PMP) processes highly desired
Ability to travel
