Job Description:

Title: Credit Manager 

The Credit Manager is responsible for underwriting commercial loans in accordance to WEOKIE policies and procedures, while adhering to federal regulations


 

  1. Analyze and underwrite new credits to include analysis of cash flow, financial condition, management ability, collateral valuation, and economic conditions on loan requests. Assign each credit request with a risk rating and present for approval.
  2. Complete annual reviews on existing credits to include analysis of cash flow, financial condition, management ability, repayment history, and economic conditions. Evaluate compliance with loan covenants and provide recommendations for borrower financial management. Assign each credit with a risk rating.
  1. Provide assistance to commercial lenders in terms of discussing loan structure and participating on selected member and prospect calls.
  2. Assist supervisor in satisfying regulatory requirements as provided by federal authorities. Ensure proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operation controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.
  1. Manage and lead the credit analysts’ team and ensure adherence to credit policies and procedures as approved by the board of directors.

 

  1. Portfolio management duties: Monitor loan concentrations, conduct portfolio stress testing, and recommend risk rating assignment for new and existing loans.

 

 


  1. Member-owners and new prospects receive a consistently superior level of service and attention from the credit union.
  1. Goals for commercial loan growth is met and often exceeded.
  2. Goals for timeliness and accuracy in work are consistently met and often exceeded.
  1. Calls to members and potential clients are normally returned the same day received or within 24 hours of receiving the message.
  1. Reports are accurate and prepared on a timely basis, within the first 7 business days of the month.
  1. A high level of personal credibility and respect from business leaders and owners is achieved resulting in WEOKIE being viewed as a trusted financial advisor.
  1. WEOKIE'S vision and mission is effectively communicated to show the credit union difference.
  1. All activities are efficiently conducted, generally error free, and are completed following the appropriate policies, procedures, operational controls, and compliance controls.
  2. Losses, errors, and risks are controlled and mitigated by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.

 

 

Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business related field is preferred.

1. Minimum of 3 years of business or financial institution related experience required.
2.Proven ability to learn complex or sophisticated concepts and apply them appropriately is required
3.Understanding the credit union movement as well as knowledge of WEOKIE products and services and the ability to effectively communicate these benefits is preferred.

4. Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize the necessary software to complete job functions.
5. Working knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, and other corporate financial documents is preferred.
