Cloud Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be hired on the Cloud Design Engineering team.
You Will Be Responsible For:
Administration
Participate in business planning meetings to recommend technically sound, cost-effective network solutions that meet capacity, scalability, and performance requirements
Adhere to all change management policies, including documentation and formal presentation of complex changes in weekly meetings
Document administrative tasks, project status, and support issues to aid team knowledge sharing and management visibility
Ensure incidents and service requests meet defined Service Level Targets (SLTs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Share both technical and non-technical knowledge formally and informally to enhance team capability and cohesion
Pursue continuous development through certifications, training, or conferences relevant to technical and non-technical aspects of the role
Support cloud deployment initiatives as a subject matter resource
Provide status updates to leadership and during team meetings
Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively
Network Administration
Design, deploy, upgrade, and support a multi-vendor enterprise cloud network
Maintain and secure hybrid cloud components including firewalls, routers, VPNs, load balancers, and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs)
Configure and manage cloud-native security tools such as network security groups, security lists, and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
Automate deployment and operations using scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, and F5 iRules
Analyze server performance, optimize workload distribution, and manage component sizing in cloud environments
Implement and tune monitoring tools to track metrics related to capacity, availability, continuity, and performance
Extend on-premises networks to cloud environments using direct connect and private gateways
Demonstrate experience in network design, documentation, configuration, and operational support as a Systems Engineer
Configure and support Transport Layer Security (TLS) decryption and inspection in both physical and virtual environments
Qualifications – Required Knowledge and Skills
Significant experience with one or more cloud providers: AWS, Azure, or OCI
Understanding of container security in AWS and Azure
General proficiency with Azure PowerShell, OCI CLI, and AWS CLI
Experience with Office 365 deployments in enterprise environments
Understanding of SaaS and IaaS connectivity in enterprise architectures
Familiarity with commercial vs. government cloud environments
Knowledge of Cisco CSRv1000 and Palo Alto virtual firewalls
Strong background in F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, ASM, iRules, and SSLO
Proficiency in SSL/TLS implementation, including certificate management and traffic decryption
Intermediate knowledge of networking and systems administration with strong troubleshooting skills
Experience with packet analysis tools such as TCPDump and Wireshark
Working knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, IPS, and related technologies
Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams, business units, and vendors to plan application architecture
Education and Experience Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or seven years of relevant experience
Minimum of three years of experience with AWS, Azure, and/or OCI
Minimum of three years of scripting experience with Python or PowerShell
Experience in healthcare or Department of Defense (DoD) environments
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Preferred
8570 Compliant / CCNA OS certification
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
