Job Responsibilities:




REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE





  • 5 years Supervisory experience, preferably in the Manufacturing/Automotive Industry

  • Certified Quality Engineer and/or Post-Secondary Degree

  • Sound knowledge of IATF 16949 Quality Standard

  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) including timely response to customers; Strong problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft tools; Excel, Word and Adobe

  • Proven organizational skills in a fast paced and demanding environment

  • New program launch/ Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

  • Knowledge of PPAP, PSO, Run at Rate

  • Utilize performance measures and drive continual improvement

  • Experience with supplier Management

  • Effective implementation of PFMEA and Control Plan

  • Participation in layered process audit (Fast track resolution)

  • Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.

  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact.

  • Physically capable of performing essential duties of the job.




DUTIES:





  • Supervise the Quality department in its daily objectives, activities, tasks, assignments and problem which may arise

  • Manage Test Labs (Performance Testing, Calibration and CMM)

  • Perform tasks and reporting

  • Provide training as required to subordinates and other members of the company where needed

  • Participate in MPS workshops or other methods and encourage continual improvement

  • Adhere to, implement and maintain MAFACT

  • Track Prototype builds and verify whether they are okay to ship

  • Approve hours for Weekly Payroll

  • Review and disposition as part of the team for internal non-conformances

  • Ensure all QE logs are maintained by subordinates.

  • Ensure effective statistical process controls

  • Review & sign off on scrap report

  • Reports all non-conformances to Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations to the Team Leader and is involved in the appropriate corrective action(s).

  • Conducts performance reviews informally or formally as required and ensures performance reviews are completed for all employees.

  • Ensures suppliers are performing work safely while in operations work areas/zones when applicable.

  • Attends departmental and plant-wide communication meetings as scheduled.

  • Complies with, supports and models MSC's operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna's Employee's Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.

  • Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001).

  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA.

  • Other duties as required.
