A growing construction development company in the Howard County area is seeking a qualified CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement financial strategies to support overall business goals and growth.
* Direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, job costing, payroll, and financial reporting.
* Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis; provide actionable insights to the CEO and executive team.
* Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
* Oversee cash flow management, project budgeting, and capital expenditure planning.
* Manage banking relationships, bonding capacity, insurance, and financial risk exposure.
* Evaluate and manage financial systems and tools for greater efficiency and reporting capabilities.
* Lead the budgeting process and monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
* Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel as needed.
* Support M&A activities, investment evaluations, and strategic business initiatives.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
* CPA designation strongly preferred.
* 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within the construction or real estate development industry.
* Proven experience with construction financial management, including job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
* Strong understanding of ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint,
Procore, or similar).
* Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Experience working with private equity investors or financial partners is a plus.
