Description: The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in industrial buildings. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of plumbing codes, materials, and best practices to ensure efficient and reliable systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in industrial buildings
Fabricate and install plumbing systems including but not limited to:
Copper, PVC/CPVC, and steel piping systems
In wall rough ins
Buried piping
Set fixtures and final trim
Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues accurately and efficiently
Interpret and apply plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices
Collaborate with contractors and other trades to ensure seamless project completion
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of plumbing systems
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Provide excellent customer service and address client concerns promptly
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to operate excavating equipment as well as shooting grade accurately preferred
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Proficiency in using hand and power tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
Attention to detail and precision in work
Ability to work in various environmental conditions
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a plumber with at least 3 years as a Journeyman
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, plumbing codes, and safety regulations
Extensive underground knowledge and experience
Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
Travel Requirements:
Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwide
Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and events
Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
Ability to perform repetitive movements
Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds
Adequate vision to perform all required tasks
Work on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops
Comfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safely
Strong sense of balance and spatial awareness
Work in underground trenches, high elevations as well as confined spaces, if required
