JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the preparation of financial statements for multifamily and commercial properties, as well as specific fund vehicles. Additionally, this role will support accounting compliance projects pertaining to the custody of the Company's advisory clients and private funds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by Harbor Group International.
Prepare the Company's subsidiaries standalone financial statements, in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
Assist with providing guidance to auditors with financial statement questions.
Assist in reviewing legal documents to determine and track reporting requirements for new entities.
Work with external CPA firms to provide information required for audits and other engagements.
Respond to various requests from investors and external sponsors.
Assist with tracking securities documents with qualified custodians for accounting compliance.
Assist in the documentation, updating, and creation of accounting/finance SOPs.
Work on various special projects or other financial reporting projects as needed.

BS degree in accounting or equivalent.
CPA preferred.
2-3 years of public accounting experience or financial reporting experience.
Previous experience with Yardi, MRI, or other accounting systems a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint; very strong Excel skills along with ability to learn new accounting systems.
Knowledge of and experience with GAAP and/or IFRS.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent interpersonal & communications skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate with external sponsors and investors.
Ability to assimilate and summarize large quantities of data precisely and succinctly.
Ability to prioritize, manage time well, and meet critical deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
