Job Summary

The Pricing Manager role will work closely with the Director, Pricing Strategy, in all analytical responsibilities towards price guidance optimization for current business. The role will manage a team of analysts supporting current book-of-business activities. Oversee the day-to-day team operations and goals while working closely with product divisions and sales. Set and execute pricing strategy and ensure alignment across key stakeholders. Stay up to date on market trends, identify improvement opportunities and provide data-driven pricing recommendations, while considering qualitative business factors.

Job Description


  • Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for various stakeholders, including sales, around price renewal activities 


  • Analyze existing pricing across all market sectors, identify price/volume trends to highlight discrepancies and set expectations relative to a market segment


  • Develop a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and major players


  • Evaluate effectiveness of executed pricing strategies to ensure goals are met   


  • Identify pricing opportunities on certain categories and/or product lines and propose actionable recommendations


  • Maintain accuracy of calculations within applicable systems and applications 


  • Present strategy, timelines, and expectations plans as it relates to the pricing renewal process 


  • Serve as expert for responsible function and provide project oversight, coaching, and mentoring to the pricing analysts


  • Management responsibilities:  
    --Oversee employees
    --Manage day-to-day operations of employees
    --Limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact
    --Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies
    --Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff
    --Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, disciplinary actions for staff, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies
     


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics/Applied Statistic, or similar


  • At least 4 years of related experience


  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (for example: using vlookups, creating pivot tables, working with large data sets).


  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font)


  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions


  • Proven track record with large data sets


  • Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities along with the ability to effectively present to the target audience


  • Demonstrated proficiency working in fast paced work environments in a matrixed organization and team management capability


  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various type and size audience levels within, and external to, an organization


  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset 
    Strong business acumen and willingness to learn


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with statistical models, price/volume analysis, elasticity analysis, financial models


  • SAP experience


  • SQL experience


  • At least 1 year of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$110,240.00 - $165,360.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
