The Reliability Engineer (Part-Time) will support the Marshall Space Flight Center Safety Mission and Assurance Services contract supporting NASA in Huntsville, AL.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, evaluate and assure Reliability & Maintainability plans for MSFC programs & projects. Supports the development and assessment of FMEA/CIL and their ground-rules. Evaluate project documents related to reliability to assure consistency and adequacy with overall project requirements. Perform, develop, and utilize any tools needed to assure that all applicable reliability & maintainability requirements are identified for MSFC programs and projects.
Prepare, evaluate and, provide assessments of in-house and contracted quality related contractual documentation including implementation of instructions and procedures,
Participate in problem and failure investigations to determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
Provide expertise for the preparation, evaluation, and assessment of documentation relative to processes encountered during the manufacturing, inspection, and test phases of programs and projects.
Additional responsibilities include performing focused quantitative risk assessments to support risk-informed decisions pertaining to flight risk and risk mitigation alternatives.

Requires a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, or a related field.
Must have 7+ years of recent and related work experience.
In lieu of degree: Candidates with 11+ years of recent and related work experience will be considered.
Required to be regular in attendance (per agreed to work hours schedule), consistently punctual and be relied upon to successfully complete all assignments.
DESIRED:
Self-starter requiring minimal direction in completing assigned tasks within ability to excel in dynamic environment.
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills requiring daily interaction with varying levels of customer personnel.
Training in common engineering computer programs such as MATLAB, Python and Relyence
NASA related experience is a plus. MSFC experience is a big plus.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:
