The main function of the Mechanical / 3rd Party Inspector is to be responsible for the completion of inspection, including initial interpretation, reporting and to ensure any and all items delegated pursuant to job requirements in accordance with code, jurisdiction and/or customer defined criteria. The Inspector may also be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance/quality control on behalf the Aegeus client.
Responsibilities
Perform internal and external inspections to determine if items under inspection meet the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document.
Monitor NDE and PWHT process.
Oversee inspection of mechanical equipment, piping, structure and welding activities conducted at shops and construction sites.
Conduct inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the equipment as qualified and assigned.
Properly interpret regulations, codes, and industry standards.
Discuss quality trend with Quality Engineer / Inspection Coordinator and provide Improvement plan if any.
Actively participate and ensure a flawless Vendor Surveillance Program.
Ensure that work is implemented as required in the project specifications.
Compile and submit completed inspection report in a timely manner.
Show attention to detail and be capable of recommending and approving repairs as well as performing visual inspection of completed work.
Communicate and deal with customers and other parties in person in such a manner as to benefit the professional reputation of the company.
Promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous Improvement and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business.
Verify the implementation of PTW (permit to work) LOTO (lock-out and tag-out) and other safety procedures.
Conduct quality surveillance at suppliers contractors to promote project's quality culture.
Ensure suppliers /contractors have relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications and drawings.
Interface with the discipline engineer, construction engineer, and inspectors in a professional manner.
Support personnel by performing additional tasks as directed and commensurate with his/her skills.
Review original material certificate for compliances to codes and specifications.
Actively participate in safety meetings and walk-down program.
