We are seeking a full-time Team Leader Environmental Health & Safety in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for leading Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs and processes to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with applicable regulations.
Essential Functions
Lead development, implementation, execution and training of company-wide EHS programs in accordance with applicable regulations and business requirements
Lead efforts regarding EHS compliance, while ensuring mechanisms are in place to effectively address risk
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess EHS risks and develop and implement corrective action plans
Train, support and mentor team members to foster a capable, competent and high-performing team
Effectively prioritize activities and establish clear goals for team, while ensuring alignment with business objectives to drive successful outcomes
Represent Garmin to external organizations regarding EHS management, including related ISO certification programs
Monitor and respond to changes, including the introduction of new regulations, from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or other applicable authorities that may affect business activities
Author and maintain departmental policies and procedures
Lead and manage investigations and near miss reports for EHS incidents
Develop and maintain EHS metrics
Monitor and analyze EHS data and trends to identify areas for improvement
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS programs
Oversee fleet management program and ensure compliance with applicable regulations

Build and maintain high performing team(s) by recruiting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field
Must possess a minimum of 5 years environmental, health and safety work experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
Must possess previous demonstrated leadership experience
Demonstrated ability to work proactively and effectively with little supervision and exercise sound judgment
Must possess demonstrated knowledge of EHS regulations, standards and practices, including OSHA, EPA, federal and state regulations
Demonstrated success in bringing together cross-functional teams for effective problem resolution
Demonstrated project management experience relevant to Garmin's business needs for performing the essential functions of this role
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must possess a high degree of interpersonal skills to work effectively across functional and organizational lines
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines
Must demonstrate superior organizational, analytical, time management and follow-up skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ability to deal with confidential company matters
Demonstrated proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety
Proficient knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards
Health and Safety or Environmental related certifications (ex. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM))
Hazard analysis and/or safety management systems experience
