Job Title: ESL Instructor (Short-Term Exchange Program)
Dates: Sunday, July 6 - Tuesday, July 8, 2025
Hours: 2 hours of instruction per day (morning sessions)
Location: South Hadley, MA

World learning is seeking two experienced ESL instructors to provide engaging, student-centered English instruction to a group of 14- to 17-year-old students from Mexico participating in a short-term cultural exchange program, Jóvenes en Acción (Youth in Action).

Responsibilities:

• Teach daily 2-hour, in-person ESL classes over three consecutive mornings

• Lead a class of approximately 15 students (one instructor per class)

• With support from the World Learning team, design and deliver interactive lessons that:

  • Build students' confidence in conversational English

  • Explore aspects of U.S. culture

  • Prepare students to engage with others during their visit

  • Support discussion of their community-centered projects

Student Profile:

• Age: 14-17

• English level: Upper intermediate or higher

• Visiting from Mexico as part of an educational exchange program

Required Qualifications:

• BA in Education; Certificate or MA in TESOL, Education preferred  
• Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience  
• Native-level English language fluency or C2 level in the CERF required. Excellent writing skills required.   
• Knowledge and experience with communicative language teaching methodology; ELT resource materials; American history and culture; use of technology to support the learning purposes  
• Cross-cultural teaching skills, strong leadership, effective communication (oral and written) skills, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and MS Outlook. Knowledge of basic Google Drive applications such as Docs, Sheets, Forms, Classroom. 
• Ability to take initiative, be creative, flexible, and work independently and with a team.
