General Summary
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, assesses the daily operations of the assigned unit, directs and monitor the daily work activities of the clinical staff to ensure quality patient care. Responds to and takes immediate action regarding quality issues on the unit. Demonstrates values of reverence, integrity, compassion, excellence and stewardship.
The Assistant Nurse Manager must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He/she must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group (pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric patient group).
