The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $94,490 to $118,113.
Job Summary
The Senior Technical Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs to various audiences. They will play a key role in the mentoring of new trainers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. Additionally, the Senior Technical Trainer will coordinate daily training activities, manage training schedules, and ensure that all training objectives are met in a timely and effective manner. They are responsible for creating comprehensive training programs tailored to the organization's needs, ensuring that course content is up-to-date and relevant. This includes the effective management of the Learning Management System to ensure all courses are scheduled and completed in a timely manner to ensure efficacy of tracking employee competencies and qualifications. The Sr. Technical Trainer collaborates closely with leadership to ensure alignment of programs to departmental and Company goals.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement technical training programs tailored to meet organizational needs.
Mentor and support new trainers, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their teaching abilities.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure programs align with departmental and Company goals.
Develop training materials, such as presentations, worksheets, and instructor guides.
Conduct training sessions, in a multitude of mediums to best engage students while maximizing efficiency.
Implement new testing facilities and maintain existent ones to meet training needs and quality standards of the organization, including building setups.
Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback and results.
Manage training resources, ensuring all materials and equipment are up-to-date and in good working condition.
Stay informed about the latest technological trends and advancements to incorporate into training programs.
Evaluate trainee performance, provide feedback, and offer assistance to enhance their technical competencies.
Ensure 100% accuracy of Learning Management System to track competency and certifications.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum years of experience: 5+ years' experience in a relevant technical trade.
Gas Operations technical knowledge:
Understanding the properties of natural gas, pipeline construction, and maintenance, as well as safety regulations (e.g. OSHA and PHMSA).
Knowledge of 49 CFR
NY State regulations
NGA OQ written plan
Ability to design and conduct effective training programs (e.g. instructional design, presentation skills, managing the learning environment)
Bachelor's degree in engineering, instructional design, or other relevant area of study.
Equivalent experience and education.
Skills/Abilities:
Completed apprentice program or other relevant trade qualifications.
Experience in safety related regulations such as OSHA and any potential state mandated regulations.
Strong mentor and leadership skills.
Ability to assess training needs and departmental goals and translate them into effective training programs.
3+ years previous training experience.
