We are seeking a skilled technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot safety and level gauging equipment on industrial and commercial marine vessels. This role involves working with electrical systems, including conduit, marine-grade cabling, and other components. The successful candidate will test, inspect, and diagnose electrical systems while interpreting electrical schematics to ensure system functionality and safety. Key Responsibilities:
Install & Maintain Equipment: Install and maintain safety and level gauging systems on marine vessels.
Electrical Work: Install electrical conduit, bend pipes, and run marine-grade cabling.
System Testing & Troubleshooting: Test, inspect, and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure circuits are continuous and operational. Use tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and loop calibrators.
Basic Automation Knowledge: Apply basic understanding of PLC programming, industrial automation, and process control.
PC Proficiency: Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and basic PC networking.
Asset Management: Manage company assets, including vehicles, smartphones, laptops, tools, and inventory.
Physical Tasks: Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and climbing cargo tanks.
Independent Work: Ability to work autonomously and remotely in fast-paced environments.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
Customer Relations: Build professional relationships with clients through effective communication and provide service updates in a timely manner.
Reporting: Submit clear service and expense reports to the Service Manager promptly.
Professional Appearance: Maintain a professional image when interacting with clients and colleagues.
Maintain Certifications: Keep a clean driving record and ensure all necessary certifications are up to date.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education/Experience: Technical degree or certifications preferred, or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Licensing: Valid driver's license, TWIC card, and passport (or the ability to obtain).
Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Background Check: Must pass pre-hire background checks and drug testing.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor Environment: Majority of work will be outdoors, potentially in challenging weather conditions.
Noise Exposure: Possible exposure to distracting noise levels.
Safety Precautions: Must adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols within the marine industrial environment.
