Job Type: Full-time, 13-week contract


About the Role



We are seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist to join our acute care hospital team, working with diverse patient populations, including orthopedic, ICU, ED, medical, and surgical cases. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team of PTs and PTAs while receiving on-site training and assistance from the department's lead physical therapist.


Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, evaluations, and reassessments
  
  
  


• Develop and execute personalized treatment plans
  
  
  


• Perform gait training, mobilization techniques, and post-operative rehabilitation
  
  
  


• Work with assistive devices such as gait belts, walkers, sit-to-stand lifts, and sliding boards
  
  


• Treat a wide range of conditions, including hip/knee fractures, post-op cervical and spinal surgeries, total hip/knee replacements
  
  
  


• Ensure smooth discharge planning for inpatient physical therapy patients
  
  


• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital environment
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 
  Rhode Island State Physical Therapy License required
  
  
  


• 
  1+ years of inpatient physical therapy experience
  
  
  


• 
  First-time travelers accepted (acute care experience required)
  
  
  


• Strong skills in assessment, discharge planning, patient evaluations, and mobility training
  
  
  


• 
  Float required within inpatient hospital setting
  
  

Shift Details

• 
  5x8-hour shifts (08:00 AM - 5:30 PM), Monday-Friday
  
  
  


• 
  Weekend rotation required (Tuesday-Saturday schedule preferred but flexible)
