ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY




SUMMARY : Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently searching for 4 CenterPointe Receivers who have excellent communication, are self-starters, and have leadership skills. Additionally, this candidate should have organization skills, the ability work independently, and to positively interact with other students, faculty and staff. Foundation prefers candidates with relevant professional experience, demonstrated writing and research skills, and a can-do-attitude. We seek a creative candidate who will find a way, and take initiative.

Cal Poly Pomona Foundation Dining Services proudly owns and operates 26 dining locations on the Cal Poly Pomona campus whose mission is to create exceptional dining experiences to support and nourish the Cal Poly Pomona community. SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):


The CenterPointe Receiver will work hand in hand with the Kitchen Manager, Floor Supervisor, Cooks, and Student workers and be responsible for performing specific tasks and duties assigned within the kitchen and in the office. The receiver is accountable on ensuring that organization and cleanliness are in place in the loading dock area, receiving area, kitchen area, and assigned work station
• Collaborate with staff to list expected deliveries
• Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
• Unload packages from incoming trucks
• Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
• Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
• Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
• Ensure invoices are signed
• Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
• Rotating Delivery; First In First Out
• Daily cleaning of the loading dock area, trash bins, and trash can which includes sweeping, moping, washing, and sanitizing
• Check and restock staff restroom, main kitchen area, and food stations with soap, sanitizer, and paper towels
• Other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED)



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Organized and detailed
• Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly
• Ability to work under pressure and produce high volume and quick service
• Must be customer oriented with good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to learn other software programs
• Ability to work in various test kitchens, learning the use of spreadsheets, food prep equipment, including kitchen sanitation and safety standards
• Highly detailed-orientation, able to work independently, multi-task enjoy interfacing with other staff at all levels to ensure
• Provide and receives open and honest feedback in a constructive manner
• Ability to use food prep equipment using safe practices
• Experienced with weights and volume measurements and conversions with food
• Nutrition and culinary background


Physical requirements include standing for long periods; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal and written communication skills; reaching, lifting of up to 50 pounds, working in a cold environment
