Basic Job Functions:


The Design Supervisor position is responsible for contributing to the Vulcraft leadership team to continuously improve safety, quality, and profitability across all departments. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, leading a team of Design Engineers and Designers to support the division's goal to take care of all customers. Other responsibilities include assuring consistent application of design practices; collaborating to coordinate work and production schedules; and striving to strengthen partnerships with customers, specifiers and other parties involved with projects. As a leader, this individual is responsible for the coaching and development of the team.


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• Registered PE or Passed PE Exam and in process of completing PE experience requirement
• Willing to relocate for future advancement positions within Nucor
• Manager or Supervisor approval

• Leadership experience
• Civil Engineering, especially with an emphasis in structures
• Experience with steel joist and deck industry or other steel manufacturing businesses
• Experience in the construction industry as a project management or consulting engineer
