A premier manufacturing company located in the Tri-State area is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead their payroll team, hybrid one day a week in-office! Your new role
The Payroll Manager role involves directing the day-to-day payroll functions while ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment, coaching staff, delivering industry best practices, and maintaining high-quality standard operating procedures and monitoring controls.
Manage the Americas, US, shared service payroll operations with 8 direct reports
Develop payroll strategy and partner with Human Resources, Legal, Finance, and Tax Departments in automation, compliance, and customer-centric initiatives.
Maintain strong working relationships with third-party vendors regarding unemployment claims management, garnishments, commuter benefits, and health and welfare.
Sign off on payroll staff processing and auditing of weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay cycles for approximately 14,000 U.S. domestic employees.
Responsible for timely and favorable audit findings related to SOX, internal audits, external audits, and local union reviews.
Oversee garnishments, 401k, and all other employee and employer payroll deductions.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, HR Management, or equivalent
5 to 7 years' experience managing a multi-state payroll function with 5000+ employees payroll size
Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll module, Time Tracking required as well as ADP WorkforceNow.
American Payroll Association and/or SHRM member.
Ability to manage and coach a team with strong leadership capabilities.
Experience complying with audit procedures, tax and accounting practices, company policies, and procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
