Full - Time - 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Monday - Friday)
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Department: Maintenance
Construct, repair, and maintain wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, fixtures, and other parts of the Hospital building.
Reports directly to the Lead Carpenter
Responsibilities:
Constructs and renovates walls, ceilings, and floors.
Designs and builds casework and cabinetry
Responsible for responding to emergent calls promptly and courteously.
Installation walls/floors in all in-house construction/renovation projects.
Maintain/Repair/replace damage walls/floors in all patient rooms and common areas.
Maintenance/repair of all hospital ceiling tiles.
Refinishing of hospital furniture.
Maintain essential tools and equipment inventory.
What you will need:
Required:
High school graduate or equivalent is required, with courses in shop, mathematics, mechanics, and general science.
Driver's License required.
Good knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction specifications, required to perform work
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
Ability to understand and manipulate systems computers
Capable of reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints.
Weekend work and shift rotation may be required
Preferred:
4 years experience as a construction or maintenance carpenter is preferred.
Pay Range: $26.42 - $36.99
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
