Job Description
An opportunity for a fixed-term/temporary Senior News Media Specialist is available.
The fixed-term/temporary Senior News Media Specialist will support the production process from development through post-production and delivery with an emphasis on the latter two. Responsibilities and tasks will include but are not limited to: ingesting media from various sources, editing with Adobe Premiere as well as other Adobe Products, transcoding media to fit varying editing needs, using in-house camera/lighting gear in response to studio and field shoots alike, and working with the onsite archive system for long term media management.
Please note this is a fixed-term temporary role to provide on-call support.
Specific responsibilities include:
Editing the Daily News Program and delivering for playout for on air deadlines;
Point person for all departments, including but not limited to Editorial, Broadcast Ops, Encoding, Media Services, Underwriting, Studio Crew, Graphics, Field Teams etc.;
Working directly with all departments for the planning and execution of Broadcasts and Live Events;
Working in conjunction with the editorial team to plan the days workflows;
Reviewing editorial orders for potential legal issues and adherence to style guide standards;
Daily archiving of the previous days media via PC platforms;
Finding, transcoding, and prepping B-roll for field editors;
Editing of pre-produced segments from start to finish as well as aiding in finishing field segments;
Using various Dalet based workflows to retrieve and deliver footage as requested;
Working collaboratively with all news room departments to ensure program delivery;
Assembling and delivering visual elements for broadcast on a daily basis including but not limited to b-roll, segments, web videos and promotional materials;
Screen segments and deliverables for quality control;
Additional duties, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will have exceptional planning, organization, problem analysis as well as familiarity with camera equipment and PC computers to aid field editors with troubleshooting. Additional qualifications include:
A minimum of five (5) years in multimedia production, required; news/news-related environment preferred;
Ability to shoot and edit video (Premiere);
Proficiency with Dalet;
Exceptional written and verbal communication, and presentation skills;
Solid interpersonal communication skills;
Are detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask;
Candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and be precise, and thorough.
