About the job


A Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role involves analyzing blueprints, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that all cost considerations are accurate and comprehensive.


Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints and documentation: Prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.


• Prepare estimates: Use estimates for selecting vendors or subcontractors.


• Consult with stakeholders: Discuss and formulate estimates with clients, vendors, and construction personnel.


• Adjust cost estimates: Confer with engineers, architects, and contractors on changes and adjustments.


• Management support: Provide estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.


• Cost-effectiveness: Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services.


• Cost monitoring: Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.


• Tendering process: Establish and maintain the tendering process and conduct negotiations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Experience: Profound experience with commercial projects.


• Analytical skills: Strong analytical mindset and excellent numerical skills.


• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Negotiation: Strong negotiation abilities.


• Attention to detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.


• Software proficiency: Familiarity with construction estimating software (e.g., BlueBeam, Primavera, MS Excel).

Education and Experience:

• Degree: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.


• Experience: Minimum of four years of construction experience, with at least two years in estimating.
