HAYS has exclusively partnered with the LEGO group to oversee the hire of a Molding Director for their new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Richmond, Virginia. The Molding Director will play a key leadership role in establishing and developing the Molding department at LEGO Manufacturing Virginia. Collaborating with a peer during the production ramp-up phase, this position involves shaping the team, embedding company culture and best practices, and navigating local labor and legislative environments. Reporting directly to the General Manager and serving on the local but also global leadership team, this position will entail stakeholder management and team creation.



Your new role :

• Management of the team, ensuring their safety, development and building a high-performing, motivated team, using feedback, coaching, mentoring, etc.


• Lead the area through the leaders.


• Establish and ensure compliance of the main area KPIs, ensuring the proper actions are in place to have them on track.


• Coordination with other Directors and Vice Presidents, locally and internationally.


• Define clear objectives for the area and for the team, ensure their deployment, employee alignment, establishment of the required actions and ensure their execution.


• Ensure the correct flow of information in the area and between other areas.


• Make development plans for the organization and the leadership team.


• Continuously improve the performance of people, processes and systems.


• Perform periodic performance reviews in formal and informal assessments and address any necessary development.


• Foster business proximity with other sites, securing global collaboration and coherence.


• Establish a recurring basis program of continuous improvement and LEAN approach.

What you'll need to succeed :

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in engineering and high-paced production environments with solid supply chain and product and manufacturing understanding.


• Solid background in working in a highly lean manufacturing cultural environment. Experience in using Engel or Arburg is a plus.


• Ideally, we have experience in precision, efficiency, and scalability in molding operations to meet manufacturing requirements.


• Experienced in managing and leading successful, highly collaborative teams in a manufacturing environment.


• Degree qualified in Engineering - could be Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Electrical discipline.

• Ability to be on-site in Richmond 5 days a week as well as some limited international travel 3-5 times a year.

What you'll get in return :

• Base salary up in the range of $191K-$210K depending and assessed on experience levels.


• Annual bonus target of 25% of your base salary.
