POSITION SUMMARY

The Verification and Validation team at Matthews Marking Systems is seeking a technically proficient, enthusiastic, and curious engineer who is dedicated to product quality. If you would like to be part of a team that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, please join us.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute comprehensive verification and validation plans for systems involving hardware, firmware, software, and ink
• Review user needs and product requirements with relevant stakeholders
• Participate in design reviews to provide feedback on testability and quality
• Verify design outputs meet design inputs by reviewing design documentation and requirements, by performing code inspections and walkthroughs, by doing unit, integration, and white box testing, with the goals of ensuring the product is built according to specifications and bugs are detected early
• Design and implement test cases, test scripts, and test procedures to validate that the product meets the end user requirements
• Design and run smoke tests for testing systems at various milestones in their development or release process
• Perform system-level testing, including integration, smoke, regression, security, and acceptance testing
• Analyze and communicate test results, validation summary reports, manage bugs, and work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Create, maintain, and update test environments, software simulators, and tools
• Communicate and collaborate closely with cross functional Agile team members

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Proven experience in verification/validation/testing of products that include electronics and embedded software
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices and willingness to learn and adapt to new ones
• Familiarity with software automated testing frameworks and tools, such as GoogleTest, Junit, TestNG, Squish for Qt
• Strong problem-solving abilities to replicate and document conditions and steps under which defects occur, to do root cause analysis, and to help troubleshoot
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
