Responsible for developing solutions to the most complex business challenges within the Kroger Supply Chain. Lead the division on analytics and data science projects, with the ability to effectively communicate results, summarize findings and propose next steps. Create tools for Kroger Supply Chain to gain descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive insights using knowledge of visualization techniques, statistics, machine learning, programming, data engineering and modeling. Mentor other analysts and business partners on data science techniques. - Bachelor's Degree analytical or technical field (business administration, finance, accounting, engineering, statistics, Math, etc.)
- Any proven experience in prioritizing multiple projects and assignments while attaining on-time completion
- Any experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Dash, Shiny, etc)
- Any experience with a programming language (Python, PySpark, R, or similar)
- Strong SQL querying skills
- Ability to relate to and understand others, understand the big picture, yet also aware of details
- Ability to influence and collaborate with cross functional leaders in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Engineering Technology, Architecture Technology, Product Technology, Analytics, etc.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate your results to deeply technical, non-technical, and leadership audiences.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL Server

Desired
- Master's Degree quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, computer science, or similar)
- Any Supply Chain Operations, Planning, or Analysis role
- Any experience in data science as a service platform
- Any experience with data management using Microsoft Azure and Databricks
- Expertise in one or more areas among: Machine Learning Time-series models, Deep Learning / Reinforcement Learning, Causal Inference, Statistics
- Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Methodologies- Produce statistical, operational, and/or financial analysis from internal and external data sources for use in decision making
- Develop innovative and reliable insights through use of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytical techniques
- Oversee projects through inception, data collection/wrangling, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain data science models to support the business
- Perform required key analyses across various functions of the Supply Chain, including but not limited to Warehousing, Transportation, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing
- Identify capabilities and processes that drive continuous improvement, prepare improvement projections and post-implementation variance analysis
- Act as subject matter expert for Kroger Supply Chain related data
- Mentor and train more junior data analysts on data science techniques
- Provide excellent customer service to all Kroger Supply Chain business partners
- Exercise sound analytical judgment, draw insights and document findings
- Travel independently to Kroger locations up to 25%
