Overview

Location: Newberry, FL

The Production Coordinator's prime objective is to manage the day-to-day operation of the production department, meeting quantity and quality of products within specifications and costs as set by the plant objectives. The scope of this position includes all activities of plant equipment operations and controls necessary to meet operational, safety and environmental requirements both in quantity/quality of products. Areas included are primarily Raw Grinding, Burning and Finish Grinding, but can include support or backup for the Quarry & Shipping functions. It also includes the stocking and handling of additive raw materials, the quality control of the finished product and other maintenance related functions such as plant cleaning, grounds upkeep, refractory repairs, mill grinding media, and managing of cement/clinker inventories. This position supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies safety standards and federal/state regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Set objectives, guidelines, procedures, and priorities and define key programs and schedules during day-to-day operations and equipment shutdowns.
  • Establish jobs or tasks necessary to comply with his/her section's objectives and define them complete with instructions, technical. specifications, and environmental compliance policies as applicable.
  • Manage, direct, and coordinate overall activities of the department and interaction with other departments.
  • Promote safety by ensuring tailgate and safety meetings are held, developing the proper safety procedures, wearing required. safety equipment and following proper working environment and conditions.
  • Participate in defining Production Department objectives and strategies.
  • Mentor and coach operators in both technical and supervisory development.
  • Establish and maintain communication within the department so there is continuity between different production teams.

Education

Degree in an engineering, technical field, or equivalent experience in similar role.

Technical knowledge and certifications


  • Cement industry experience is required.
  • Knowledge of cement manufacturing process with good troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong and proven leadership skills.
  • The ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence decisions.
  • Knowledge of process, maintenance, production facilities as well as environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to be achievement oriented and tenacious, with a strong work ethic and an impec-cable attention to detail.
  • The ability to work well with others of diversified background.
  • The ability to persuade and motivate others.
  • The ability to present ideas and reports clearly, both written and verbal.
  • Organizational skills in order to manage both time and equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and to look for opportunities to improve both plant and personnel performance.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screening.
