Prudential Financial is seeking a motivated individual to join the Tax Department located in Newark, NJ. The position requires a team player that is highly organized, responsive, and extremely flexible and can handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results. The primary responsibilities of the position will include fiancial reporting, forecasting and compliance for Federal, International and State and Local Tax.

What you typical day will look like:


  • GAAP financial reporting and analysis of taxes

  • Partnering with Business Units to implement and design tax planning strategies and transactions

  • Preparation and review of Federal, International, State and Local Tax Compliance

  • Recommendations of improvements to compliance processes

What you bring:


  • Bachelors degree in accounting or other related business disciplines required

  • CPA and/or Masters degree in tax or accounting a plus

  • Corporate Tax Experience (6-7 years), financial services sector is preferred, international expertise a plus

  • Knowledge of corporate tax topics

  • Strong GAAP accounting for taxes: ASC-740/FAS 109/FIN48

  • Formal legal training a plus

  • Understanding of financial service companies including Investment and Asset Management

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational/analytical skills required

  • Proven leadership track record strongly desired

  • Solid computer skills - proficient in standard Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint)

  • CorpTax Compliance software skills a plus

  • Looking for someone who is assertive, creative and proactive

  • Strong work ethic and able to partner in a team-oriented environment

  • Organized and flexible - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments, while meeting deadlines

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
