Are you someone that likes new challenges? Do you want to explore new technologies and help solve some of the world's most difficult problems, like air quality and safety solutions? At TSI, these opportunities are real. Our engineers work with industry-leading experts both internally and externally. We encourage and enable our engineers to get into the field with customers to better understand their issues and solve their problems. At TSI, you make a difference - every day.
Electrical Engineer II at TSI
The Electrical Engineer II has a demonstrated knowledge of and an ability to apply standard engineering practices toward problem solving associated with the design, development, and manufacturing of complex electronic instruments per product specifications. This level of engineer is expected to be able to accurately design, develop, perform new product and continuation engineering activities in electrical hardware and firmware development, develop test protocols, interpret test results. and operate more on a broader scope of a project. The Engineer II takes some direction from Senior Engineers and Project Leads; however, work is more functionally independent than an Engineer I.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will:
Design, test, and debug complex electrical circuits, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and customer needs
Identify and evaluate opportunities for component redesign to reduce purchase, manufacturing, assembly and/or testing costs
Evaluate potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness, and analyze new and unfamiliar problems with senior engineers or project leads, as needed
Manage own work flow and develop a deeper understanding of product lines
Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules to support project planning and execution
Utilize knowledge to design tests and validations of project work
Design or update existing firmware code to meet product requirements, following established firmware development processes for design documentation, coding conventions, and code review standards
Perform root cause analysis of hardware/firmware bugs and communicate proposed changes through engineering drawings, updated code, and documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality, and Regulatory) to design, test, and debug embedded systems
May travel to customer sites to provide customer service support and help resolve problems
Initiate and manage work flow for Engineering Change and Deviation to support prototype development, component obsolescence resolution, product qualification, and approvals
Provide engineering support to manufacturing personnel to solve production problems
Effectively communicate project activities during project reviews, stand-ups, and one on one meetings
