The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for product category to include the market intel, our anniversary status, key drivers to the market, and conveying product information throughout the company. This position requires a well-organized, and detailed person who is capable of multi-tasking in a fast- paced environment. The Purchasing Coordinator must be proficient with computers and database software packages, as well as building relationships with suppliers and customers. JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES•Plan product needs based on inventory levels and key market drivers.•Analyze market dynamics using forecast, market indices, supplier relationships, etc.•Build close working relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing.•Verify, prepare, and submit purchase orders to appropriate vendors in a timely fashion.•Work with vendors to correct issues by writing and following up with corrective actions.•Handle freight negotiations and logistics into one of our facilities.•Work directly with other company departments on product requirements (including customer service, sales, and warehouse staff).•Keep information accessible by sorting and filing documents.•Work closely with operations to transfer material to other warehouses.•Other duties and projects may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS •High School Diploma or GED is required.•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.•2 years minimum purchasing experience in the commodity or chemical industry is required.•Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (formulas, pivot tables, sort, average, conditional formatting), and Outlook is preferred.•Enterprise software experience such as JD Edwards/Enterprise 1 is preferred.
