CB Mining is an independent family-owned corporation that is growing. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Washington, PA, CB Mining focuses on product support for Longwall mines. Established from part of the Caterpillar mining group, CB Mining has grown from 2 locations in Washington, PA to now 4 locations, with additions in Marion, IL and Tuscaloosa, AL, We provide customers with rebuild services, CST gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrications services, service exchange units, custom made cabling solutions, life cycle services including oil sampling and vibration analysis, robust inventory support, compatibility services and underground technical support. We also provide extensive machining, chroming, laser cladding, and hydraulic repairs through our valued partner Cleveland Brothers. This position may perform any combination of the following duties:

Responsibilities to include:

• Conduct routine inspections of both CB Mining premises and all equipment.


• Perform routine preventive maintenance.


• Handle basic repairs, alterations, and additions of facilities and equipment.


• Oversee contractors when advanced repairs are necessary.


• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, gas, plumbing etc. issues and correct them.


• Repair machines, equipment, buildings, grounds, etc. as necessary.


• Maintain a shared document of issues and repairs that are required throughout CB Mining.

Key Personal Background Requirements

• Proven maintenance experience.


• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Related degree from a technical college a plus.


• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.


• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.


• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.


• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.


• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.


• Experience performing routine and preventive maintenance.


• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.


• An eye for detail.


• Professional presentation and attitude


• Ability to maintain focus while working individually.


• Strong time management skills.


• Ability to be a self-starter and manage workload.

It started with 89 employees and 1 location, that historically focused on customer support, underground Technical Service Reps, Longwall AFC, BSL, and Crusher rebuilds.
