Job Title: Specialty Software Engineer (Java Developer)


Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) - Iselin, NJ


Project Overview: As a Java Developer, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of applications for the securities lending desk. This role involves hands-on coding, developing Java modules, and collaborating with senior team members, product owners, and the securities desk.


Key Responsibilities:

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering.


• Review and analyze multifaceted, large-scale, or long-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors.


• Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.


• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Specialty Software Engineering, demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.


• Advanced Java development skills, including mastery of core Java concepts such as data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and exception handling.


• Strong understanding of OOP principles and design patterns to create modular and reusable code.


• Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, with experience in building robust applications.


• Solid understanding of database concepts, capable of writing efficient and complex queries, and optimizing database performance.


• Familiarity with messaging technologies like JMS, Solace, and TIBCO.


• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, and Cucumber for unit testing and ensuring code quality.


• Good working experience with CI/CD, EPL, and Git.


• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills for effective collaboration.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in capital markets.


• Ability to communicate effectively with the securities desk.


• Understanding of finance/securities platforms.


• Prime brokerage experience is a plus.
