Position Summary:
Responsible for receiving, unpacking, checking and storing merchandise and materials, filling orders and requisitions. Packs, crates and ships product and material to departments and customers.
Essential Functions:
RECEIVING:
Unload incoming shipments – UPS, truck
Visually inspect product for defects and set aside defective materials for review
Verify packing list for accuracy
Enter receipt of goods into computerized inventory system, with any other pertinent information according to instructions
Inspect goods and place materials in designated storage locations in warehouse
Report damaged goods to supervisor
Perform inventory functions as directed (counting, reconciliation of records, etc.)
File paperwork as required
SHIPPING:
Highlight and sort shipping/packing papers for appropriate bins
Take orders, retrieve requested items from warehouse and stage in packing area
Pull and assembly of bill of material (BOM) i.e. hose assemblies
Pack materials for shipping and record transaction as directed
Pack items in designated materials according to customer specifications
Place identification labels on all packages, skids, etc. according to directions
Fill out any special paperwork for shipment of orders – FedEx, truck paper
Process packages through UPS manifest system
Report discrepancies to manager
GENERAL:
Interact via telephone with other departments as necessary to clarify an order
Operate all material handling equipment as necessary, including hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts
Perform routine inspection of material handling equipment and report a need for repairs or replacement to manager
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of warehouse and replenish packing materials as needed

Skills to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines
Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting and verifying
Must be able to work individually in a fast paced environment
Good visual acuity for inspecting materials and merchandise
Demonstrated dependability
Demonstrated adherence to all safety regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and computerized inventory system
Able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
Certified as a trained forklift operator
Environment:
Warehouse facility
Requires employee to spend the majority of his or her time on foot, lifting, bending, standing and carrying items that are being shipped or received.
Steel toe shoes are required
