Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sanitation Manager at their site in Demopolis, Alabama. This role supervises and directs the nightly sanitation crew in daily duties and is responsible for ensuring the effective sanitization of the production facility to in compliance with governmental and/or company specifications.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and implement strategy for operational management to meet performance, safety, timeliness and budget requirements
Manages site usages of labor, supplies, and chemicals to ensure P&L standards are met
Evaluate and document sanitation process for potential cost savings to relay to management
Communicate with management on a daily basis to report accidents, downtime, damage and other important plant issues
Provide basic daily reports regarding nightly logs, payroll, chemical and supply orders, timesheets, etc.
Conduct weekly internal safety audits on staff as well as equipment
Set, monitor, motivate, and track specific goals for the sanitation crew in regard to working safe, clean and on time
Manage and develop direct reporting staff which includes interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, motivating, evaluating, setting and adjusting of pay rates and hours of work, handling team member complaints and grievances, disciplining team members, planning and directing the work of team members, etc.
Ensure compliance with all internal company procedures and policies including Technical Services, Human Resources, Accounting, IT, and general customer service
Coordinate responses to any governmental or customer deficiencies
Report and investigate all accidents
Submit corrective actions procedures when necessary to remedy issues and follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution
Qualifications & Requirements:
1 year of related sanitation experience in food manufacturing or meat processing
Previous team supervisory or management experience in manufacturing or industrial setting
General working knowledge of computers/technology (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
Ability to wear personal protective equipment on a regular basis
Ability to work in work environments with extreme temperature fluctuation
Familiarity with OSHA, FDA, and similar regulatory guidelines
