The Director, Men's Basketball Player Personnel manages operational aspects of the recruitment of prospective student athletes (PSAs) for the Men's Basketball program. Administers processes involved in tracking and monitoring PSAs within the NCAA recruiting compliance rules and regulations.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Work in concert with coaches and staff on all operational aspects within University of Miami Men's Basketball Recruiting - including prospect identification, logistical support for official/unofficial visits, and all scheduling/planning efforts
Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy aligned with the program's goals and vision.
Work closely with the coaching staff to identify and prioritize recruiting needs
Assist with generation of recruiting calendar for assistant coaches
Assist in organization of both local & national recruiting areas for assistant coaches
Lead organizational effort to identify potential student-athletes in designated recruiting areas Communicate all prospect information updates to all members of staff Maintain & update all recruiting boards
Manage all database entry of pertinent recruiting information and ensure its accuracy Log all coaches' evaluations & contacts
Coordinate walk-on program in conjunction with those responsible within the program Train & supervise student personnel staff
Oversee procurement of all prospective student-athlete academic information, including collection of transcripts, test score, and other necessary data
Prioritize prospect evaluations for Head Coach
Assist in generating assistant coaches' prospect evaluation/contact schedule
Manage all recruiting film & subscription services
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration or relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Not Applicable
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Prior coaching experience at the collegiate level is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Ability to evaluate talent and assess player development potential.
Strong understanding of the recruiting landscape, including familiarity with the transfer portal.
A passion for college basketball and commitment to the success of student-athletes both on and off the court.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
Knowledge of business and management principles
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others
Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office)
Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget
