Direct Hire opportunity for a Quality Engineer located in Buena Park, CA
The Quality Engineer works under general supervision to ensure product quality through precise measurements, inspections, and documentation. This role evaluates first articles and existing products, inspects received goods, approves production samples, performs final inspections, and maintains calibration records. The position also contributes to quality documentation including APQP, FMEA, PPAP, and Process Flow Charts.
As a Quality Engineer, you will:
Perform first piece inspections and authorize production runs
Conduct inspections using micrometers, calipers, optical equipment, and blueprints
Evaluate customer returns for corrective actions and process improvements
Inspect received materials and perform in-process/final product audits
Maintain calibration records for precision measuring instruments
Create dimensional drawings of customer products
Issue certificates of conformance
Assist in developing risk management documentation (APQP, FMEA, PPAP)
Review shop orders for accuracy prior to production release
This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.
You will need the following to succeed in this role:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of:
o SPC (Statistical Process Control)
o Blueprint reading
o Basic risk management principles
5+ years in quality assurance or related field
CMM inspection experience
GD&T knowledge
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
Strong computer skills
Excellent written/verbal communication
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Work independently with minimal supervision
Perform semi-complex mathematical calculations
Create and maintain quality documentation
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
