The Central Fill Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacy Manager and/or Staff Pharmacists in a fast-paced environment with processing and filling prescriptions, record keeping, communicating with stores, working with and maintaining robotics, and ensuring that all prescriptions are packaged and toted to meet delivery times. The position is also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and assisting with inventory management and ordering. This role requires computer operation of the pharmacy dispensing system and Microsoft Office, accuracy in filling prescriptions and robotics, and product knowledge common medications. To be effective in this position you must have the ability to communicate with store teams and other employees. Candidates need to able to work both independently and as a team. Furthermore, the Pharmacy Technician must maintain and follow all board of Pharmacy regulations as well as store and Pharmacy department policies and procedures. Knowledge of pharmacy operations is preferred for this position. Must be organized, be able to work on a number of tasks at one time with minimum supervision. The incumbent must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Assists the pharmacist in filling prescriptions
Manually fill prescriptions and maintain knowledge of drug names
Maintain robotics including filling automated cells with appropriate medications and performing basic maintenance
Ensure accuracy of prescription filling, prescription sorting and packaging, tote sorting, and tote manifesting
Maintains accurate records
Ensures confidentiality of all patient and pharmacy records
Assists with measuring dosages and labeling containers
Order, check-in, and stock prescription medications
Process prescription returns or cancellations
Resolve medication and processing issues via the pharmacy processing system
Responsible for accurately processing prescription orders through ensuring accuracy and product knowledge
Maintains familiarity with all product, product location and bottle location
Maintains knowledge of store locations, order cutoff times, and tote pickup/delivery times
Ensures positive relations with staff and store teams
Properly communicates with store teams to resolve issues
Provides prompt and courteous communications
Assists store teams with questions and refers teams to the Pharmacist when appropriate
Performs department receiving and stocking
Fills, rotates and straightens shelf stock
Properly maintains ends and displays
Pulls back stock
Verifies invoices with product received and fills necessary paperwork for discrepancies
Miscellaneous responsibilities include:
Assists in ordering
Pulls bottles of drugs for Pharmacists to fill prescriptions
Assists in staging, packing of prescriptions for redistribution to pharmacies
Organizes and cleans
Maintains Board of Pharmacy regulation
Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Loading and transporting totes using a pallet jack to the loading area and assisting drivers with loading and unloading vehicles.

Physical Environment:
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position requires extensive walking throughout the building multiple times a day.
