Position Description

Electrical Construction Manager

Salary Range: $135K to $150K


Job Summary:

The Electrical Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all electrical and instrumentation (E&I) construction activities performed by contractors. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SCADA systems and programming, electrical estimating, and managing large-scale electrical installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical contractors and subcontractors on the construction site.
  • Ensure that all electrical installations are performed according to project specifications, drawings, and local codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and safety of electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other construction activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation related to electrical work.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Review and implement project technical specifications on Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C) design.
  • Oversee electrical aspect of project, including adherence to project specifications, budget, engineering hours, submittal deadlines, delivery schedules, document review and approval process, customer requirements, and vendor management.
  • Provide expertise during pre-sale, estimation, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and operations.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure projects meet design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including equipment and wiring.
  • Possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations, and be able to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision.


Position Requirements

?Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial, commercial, or utility projects.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, including configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in electrical estimating software and cost control techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NEC, IEC, IEEE, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with SCADA PlantPAx software is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A valid California Driver's License
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) - preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - preferred
