Overview
The Systems Engineer will work at the customer site in Alameda, CA and support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Network Operations Center(NOC)
Responsibilities will include:
Strategic Capacity & Resource Planning – Assess current and future infrastructure needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and optimal use of power, cooling, space, and network resources.
Risk Management & Compliance – Ensure adherence to industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Lifecycle Management – Oversee the planning, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of data center assets and technologies.
Cross-Team & Vendor Coordination – Collaborate with internal teams (network, security, facilities) and external vendors to align infrastructure planning with business objectives.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity – Develop and maintain strategies for failover, redundancy, and resilience to mitigate risks of outages.
Budgeting & Cost Management – Plan and oversee capital and operational expenditures for data center infrastructure and projects.
Technology Roadmap & Innovation – Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, sustainability, automation, and scalability.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement – Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track infrastructure health, efficiency, and identify optimization opportunities.
Responsibilities
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
6 years of relevant IT experience
Eligibility/Clearance Requirements: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
Qualifications
Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts.
Experience working in a datacenter and providing network solutions.
Experience in a supervisory role.
Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
