Position Title:
Budget Analyst
This position reports directly to the Associate Director for Budgets and Contracts and is responsible for serving as the primary financial administrator for restricted funding; Responsible for the set up, monitoring and closeout of budgets; Provide guidance and support to principal investigators / budget managers on budget preparation, maintenance and spend down, including the processing of payments and adjustments.
Bachelor's degree and three years' experience in accounting or finance is required. Must be able to interact with diverse populations, adjust to changing situations and exercise tact and diplomacy. The candidate should have a general familiarity with college research resources, along with the professional maturity, judgment, and drive to effectively represent the College. Must be able to exercise good judgement and discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently while prioritizing workload under pressure of completing assignments and converging deadlines, and a meticulous attention to detail. Good proofreading skills are essential. This position requires the ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
The incumbent must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. The responsibilities of this position include the ability to prepare reports, presentations and correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in reconciliations, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
