Job Description:

Job Purpose:



Individual Contributor. Provides marketing analytical support for the marketing manager and the business as a whole. Provides analysis of both primary and secondary data. Manages marketing budgets and the execution of marketing programs such as pricing product development promotionetc. Supports sales force and manages sales force automation tools. Positions within Asia may require input from higher level professionals and typically report to the GM.



Job Responsibilities:



Collaborate with sales enablement, marketing and other training organizations and staff to ensure the timely deliverable and execution of online training materials and initiatives, Deliver training to new and existing field sales team members covering the following pillars: sales methodology, processes, and strategy, selling skills and sales enablement tools, Design, develop and execute sales training curriculum and sales onboarding program to support sales methodology and process, Evaluate sales leaders, sales professionals, and key stakeholders to ensure the quality and effectiveness of sales training programs; determine if training programs meet expectations of the organization and make adjustments where required, Use a variety of instructional methods to develop materials that ensure maximum delivery effectiveness: individual or small group instruction, self-study, simulation and role play exercises, e-Learning, webinars, video conferencing, reference materials, etc.



Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:



This job exists to oversee technical training and development of the Equipment Service field technicians (i.e. electro-mechanical repair and maintenance training). The Training Manager will: 1) assess each technician's training needs and develop and implement an action plan; 2) Work with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to determine availability and suitability of training classes and schedule training; 3) Act as a day-to-day technical resource for the Equipment Service technicians; 4) Assist Equipment Service technicians on site in resolving technical issues, improving equipment performance and honing trouble shooting skills. The Training Manager will collaborate regularly with the Equipment Field Service Manager to ensure training is targeted and effective and with OEMs to ensure Equipment Service Technicians are apprised of latest developments.



Job Responsibilities: .


  • Work with Service Manager to assess their team's individual training needs and develop action plan to train technicians based on

    • Existing products in field/territory

    • New products and technologies being introduced into the field/territory

    • Improving technicians skill level

    • Ability to cover and support sales initiatives



  • Post OEM available training classes to the field updating them monthly . Also needs to coordinate and plan Veritiv specific training with OEM's.

  • Work with Service Managers, individual tech and OEM's to schedule tech training classes

  • Work with Service Managers on training budget and track expenses

  • Create and maintain shared training calendar in Outlook (or Sharepoint site)

  • Work with individual tech securing flights, hotel and rental car if needed. Arranges group travel, lodging, and meal rates to optimize expenses.

  • Meet with Service Managers on a quarterly bases

  • Be a technical resource to our field service technical staff for equipment reliability issues via the phone, email or live onsite. Disseminate information on product issues, upgrade opportunities etc

  • Visit customer accounts as needed to help with resolution to any technical service and equipment performance issues

  • Work with individual techs in the field to improve troubleshooting skills and proficiencies

  • Develop training matrix for all techs based on manufactures and devices already trained on and for future training needs of each individual technician updating regularly and keeping current with Service Managers.

  • In collaboration with Corporate Training, develop training curriculum and VKS modules for new hires who are new to our industry (catch and release)

  • Work with Service Managers to develop training plan for newly hired service personnel.

  • Partner with and foster positive relationship with all OEM manufactures training managers

  • Create conduit and process to pass along technical bulletins and information to our technical staff in the field on a consistent bases

  • Create and publish Veritiv internal tech bulletins based on observations and fixes from the field

  • Create a repository for technical information and fixes to equipment reliability issues and make available to field (Share Point)

  • Work with OEM's on technical related service issues as it relates to equipment performance

  • Work with technicians, Service Managers and OEM's on any warranty opportunities

  • Conduct technical and soft skills seminars on a consistent basis

  • Work with Service Managers to identify gaps in technical coverage in their territory

  • Identify technician flight risks (retirement, attitude, promotion) and work with Service Manager to develop plan to back fill position

  • Assist Service Managers in the interviewing process of new service personnel.

  • Perform tech ride-a-longs/field audits (critique techs interaction with customer-ability to troubleshoot equipment accurately-technical skill level (electrical, mechanical, PLC-computer skills))-tool bag inspection-van inspection-ability to fill out WO with correct bill codes and close out information

  • In collaboration with Corporate Training create videos on how to do fixes" (easy step by step video's on how to do certain fixes to share with the team) and assign to technicians as necessary

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:

  • Must have certifications from manufactures training on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, label printers, strapping equipment or other products within Packaging and FS related products

  • 5+ years of Packaging or Facility Service Industry experience


Working Conditions/Physical Requirement:

  • 50 to 70% travel required

  • Able to work remotely via a laptop



  • Must lift and handle parts up to 75 pounds

  • Must work in industrial environments, including working on ladders and lifts at high elevation, as well as low elevations such as underneath equipment



  • Must work in a variety of settings, including fast-paced industrial and food production environments

  • Must be able to present training material in a group setting.

Budget/P&L responsibilities :


Mirror each individual Service Manager area P&L and the overall departments 14.4MM annual revenue number.



Decision Rights:


Work with each individual Service Manager to develop a training regiment for all new hires. Make recommendations for additional training classes/programs for individual service techs that need additional help/training to help improve their skill level. Communicate concerns with Service Managers about individual service techs who are not meeting expectations. Schedule training and travel when appropriate.



Work Experience:



Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)


Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7 to 12 months)



Education:

• Bachelor's Degree
